Seasonal Annuals

We carry thousands of plants to choose from, many of them Homewood-Grown, in season including impatiens, marigolds, pentas, vinca, verbena, lantana, petunias, million bells, scaevola, lobelia, pansies, geraniums, coleus, purple fountain grass, caladiums, cordyline, angelonia, begonias, and much, much more! Over 220 varieties to choose from in season!

You'll also find mixed container gardens filled with annuals ready to just pop onto your porch, deck, or patio.  Some come in peat pots you can just drop them into your favorite pottery. We can create custom annual container gardens for you, as well!
Along with annuals, we offer many seasonal tropical plants such as tropical hibiscus, bougainvillea, patio trees, mandevilla, dipladenia, and sambac jasmine.

And, if you love hanging baskets overflowing with flowers or lush greenery, Homewood offers some of the biggest, most billowy hanging baskets, too! We have flower baskets for both sun and shade, as well as baskets of trailing tradescantia, coleus, and our famous Boston ferns.

Beneficial Insects at Homewood - How We
Reduced Our Use of Pesticides

In Homewood's Production Greenhouses, we strive to minimize the use of chemical pesticides.
When we do use them, we try lower-toxicity products first.

We are proud to have an active program of beneficial insects that is our first line of defense
and which has substantially reduced our reliance on pesticides. Beneficial insects are
primarily predators such as nematodes, predatory mites and tiny wasps, as well as mealybug
ladybirds that feed on pest insects.  There was quite a learning curve at first but now our
beneficial insect program has a regular schedule and is working well!

This program has not only reduced the amount of chemicals used but the
amount of pesticide exposure to our employees, customers, and the birds, lizards, and insects
that find their way into the greenhouses. It's a win-win for everyone (except the pests!)
